Two detained over brawl between football fans at LRT station


KUALA LUMPUR: Two Malaysians have been arrested over a brawl between two groups of football fans at the Bandar Tasik Selatan LRT station.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said that the arrests were made today within the Kuala Lumpur and Ampang areas.

"Both suspects aged 22 and 24 years old were arrested at their respective homes on Dec 24.

“They have been remanded for two days until Dec 25 for further investigation under Section 147/427 of the Penal Code," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 24).

Prasarana, the operator of the rail services, said that it had filed a police report about the incident at the Sungai Besi Police Station.

Previously, Prasarana said that the fight on Dec 21 led to damages within the station, including train doors and windows.

A video of the brawl went viral on social media.
