Authorities talk woman off ledge at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn condominium

KAJANG: Authorities have persuaded a 48-year-old woman off a ledge on the 9th floor of a condominium at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof says police were alerted by the public at about 3.17pm on Wednesday (Dec 25).

"Police and Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene to calm the victim," he said.

"After much advice and coaxing, the victim finally abandoned her intention to jump and she was saved. Medical personnel gave her treatment and a check-up. There were no physical injuries,” he added.

ACP Naazron says the victim lived alone in the condominium unit.

She was sent to Kajang Hospital for further medical examination.

Checks revealed she had received psychiatric treatments at hospitals in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

He advised the public to be alert to family and friends experiencing emotional distress.

"Advice and counselling can be provided via the Talian Kasih 15999 hotline," he said.
