IPOH: The Housing and Local Government Ministry has successfully implemented 6,611 infrastructure projects in the country this year.
The minister, Nga Kor Ming, said the ministry surpassed last year's record of implementing 5,196 projects.
He said the 6,611 projects were carried out with an allocation of RM993.73mil.
“These include 20 large-scale projects, 3,697 small-scale ones, 357 stall and kiosk development, and one local government digitalisation project.
“Meanwhile, 362 projects have also been implemented under Budget 2024, covering 87 projects to upgrade small stalls, 93 projects to improve drainage systems, and 182 projects to maintain flood mitigation.
“In addition, the ministry also upgraded public infrastructure, as well as built new infrastructure at 2,168 Chinese New Villages, and provided six socio-economic development grants,” he told reporters here on Friday (Dec 27).
Nga said this after launching the ministry’s “Sentuhan Kejayaan” programme at the Tambun parliamentary at Meru Raya.
A total of 55 food kiosks were launched during the event.
Nga also said that the ministry had allocated RM168.7mil for the development of projects at the Prime Minister’s parliamentary area of Tambun.
He said a total of 107 projects have been implemented in Tambun.
“Several projects under the local government, housing and Chinese new villages had been completed.
“The ministry is committed to continuing to maintain excellence and implement high-impact development projects for the sake of the country's excellence and the well-being of the people,” he added.
