MELAKA: The condition of two siblings who were injured in the tragic Ayer Keroh crash has improved and will be handed over to their relatives in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor, says Datuk Ngwe Hee Sem.
The Melaka health, human resources and unity committee chairman said that seven-year-old Muhammad Uwais Al-Qarni Khairul Ikhwan and his four-year-old sister Nur Sofea Humaira Khairul Ikhwan would be transported to Selangor by an ambulance from the Melaka hospital after they are discharged, which is expected on Saturday evening (Dec 28).
He said the 27-year-old lorry driver who was also injured in the tragic accident has regained consciousness after five days in a coma and is expected to undergo surgery on his right hip by early next year.
Ngwe also visited the siblings at the Melaka Hospital on Saturday and presented them with gifts.

The accident that occurred at around 8.40pm near the Ayer Keroh Rest and Recreational area was said to have been caused by a disengaged front tyre of a heavy vehicle heading south.
The victims in the MPV were heading to Bandar Baru Bangi when a collision occurred between two cars: a trailer, a lorry, and a tour bus.
The tour bus was ferrying 27 passengers after the bus hit a tyre lying in the middle of the expressway.
The impact caused the bus driver to lose control, skidding into the opposite lane, where it collided with three other vehicles.
The 56-year-old driver of the bus Noorisnien Khamid, and Singaporean passenger Lamrah Asid Ali, 66 were also those killed.
In total, the accident left seven dead and 33 injured.
