Teen succumbs to injuries days after motorcycle crash in Johor Baru


JOHOR BARU: A 19-year-old boy has died from injuries sustained in a crash on Jalan Sutera Danga.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh reported that the accident occurred at approximately 4.30am on Monday (Dec 23).

"The incident involved a motorcycle ridden by the teenager, who was travelling from Skudai towards Iskandar Puteri.

"The rider is believed to have lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to crash," he said in a statement on Saturday (Dec 28).

ACP Balveer added that the victim suffered severe internal injuries and was admitted to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for treatment.

Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at noon on Friday (Dec 27).

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
