Aksyah Nasrah has resigned from Sabah Bersatu to support GRS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Bersatu deputy chief Aksyah Nasrah has resigned from the party to support the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) state coalition.

In announcing his immediate resignation from the party on Monday (Dec 30), he said the decision to leave and support GRS was his own, without influence from anyone.

He tendered his resignation letter to Sabah Bersatu chief Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee dated Dec 28, 2024, and a copy of the letter to the Bersatu president, deputy president and secretary general.

As stated in a statement, Aksyah said he fully supported Hajiji’s leadership and GRS’s efforts to defend state rights under the constitution.

“The slogan ‘Rumah Kita, Kita Jaga’ (our house, we take care) is a right narrative in ensuring that Sabah is well taken care of by local leaders and local parties, without damaging relations with the federal government,” he said.

He said this unity is the strength and pillar for the state’s development and urged Sabahans to support the policies and plans drawn up under the Sabah Maju Jaya initiative for the future of the people and state.

“Through unity and the merging of all local parties representing the majority of people in Sabah, I am confident that Hajiji and GRS will be able to bring the state to greater heights in all terms,” he said.
