ACTRESS Rozita Che Wan claimed she has settled her outstanding debt of nearly RM1mil with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), reported Berita Harian.
She said this in a screencap of a recent WhatsApp conversation with her 10-year-old daughter Aaisyah Dhia Rana that she posted on her Insta Story.
“Aaisyah is sad after seeing so many people talk badly of Mummy. I love you, Mummy,” Aaisyah wrote in her message to her mother.
Rozita said she was touched by her daughter’s concern and assured her the debt had been paid.
Mara’s legal department has filed bankruptcy proceedings against Rozita, also known as Che Ta, and her eldest son Ammar Effendy, for failing to repay a loan of almost RM1mil since 2017.
This is despite Mara’s efforts to recover the money, including taking the case to court, it said.
This led to a raid on Rozita’s residence on Dec 10 by Mara, along with lawyers and court representatives, who looked to auction the items repossessed from her home.
The auction of Rozita’s 34 items, worth a total of RM902,012.46, was scheduled for Dec 24 but was postponed at her request.
> A pack of stray dogs has been terrorising residents of Kampung Alor Peroi in Besut, Terengganu, for the past few months, Kosmo! reported.
The repeated attacks by the dogs on livestock have not only left the community severely distressed but also resulted in significant financial losses.
Masykuri Ngah, 44, said stray dogs killed six of his goats last month.
“The death of my goats cost me a loss of about RM6,000.”
He has since spent RM10,000 building a concrete barrier to prevent further attacks.
Another resident Wan Nooraida Daud @ Wan Ahmad, 42, said the number of stray dogs has increased.
“The pack seems unafraid of humans and are often seen roaming the village in search of food.
“We especially fear for our children, who are now afraid to leave the house,” she said, adding that no action has been taken by the authorities despite many reports.
