SJKT Cheras staff and students are relieved after Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) stopped construction of a nearby condominium, Makkal Osai reported.

School board chairman Kumar Veeran said the construction caused noise, vibrations and dust, harming students’ health.

After the school board contacted various authorities, including DBKL and Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai, and the issue was highlighted in the press, DBKL determined that the construction was unapproved and sealed the site.

Kumar thanked those who helped resolve the matter.

Last Friday, calling it an act of penance, he flogged himself six times in front of his Coimbatore home before party members intervened.
