Man killed, five hurt in two-vehicle crash in Tuaran


KOTA KINABALU: A man died after he was flung from the car he was driving in an accident just outside a supermarket along Jalan Kampung Indai in Tuaran district about 50km from here.

Five other people were injured including one sustaining serious injuries in the accident involving two vehicles at about 7.30am on Thursday (Jan 2).

According to firemen at the scene, the 24-year-old male driver of one of the cars was killed on the spot.

Tuaran Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohamad Nor Amit said the accident involved a total of six people in two cars.

"We extricated two injured people trapped inside the vehicles.

"Three other victims were rushed to the hospital by members of the public.

"One of the victims who was thrown out of the car was confirmed dead at the scene by the medical officer," he said in a statement.
