MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for multiple regions until midnight


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until midnight in several regions across the country.

In a statement on Friday (Jan 3) MetMalaysia said affected areas include parts of Kedah (Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Penang; Perak (Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar and Batang Padang); Terengganu (Setiu) and Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Temerloh and Maran).

In Sarawak, areas affected are Miri (Beluru and Telang Usan) as well as in interior Sabah (Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Nabawan) and also the Federal Territory of Labuan.

The warning is in effect until midnight on Saturday (Jan 4).
