Motorist killed in crash near Kluang


KLUANG: A motorist was killed on the spot in a two-car collision at Kampung Paya Mas, Renggam near here on Friday (Jan 3) afternoon.

Renggam fire station chief Mohd Nizar Ma’mun said they received an emergency call about the 2.23pm incident and arrived at the scene at 2.34pm.

“The incident involved two vehicles," he said in a statement.

Nizar said one driver, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Health Ministry.

The driver of the second car suffered minor injuries while a total of seven passengers from both vehicles escaped unhurt, he added.

Nizar said the victim’s body was handed over to the police for further action and the operation, led by first senior officer Abd Rahim Razali and involving six firemen, ended at 3.14pm.
