CAMERON HIGHLANDS: A landslide occurred on the main road in Kampung Raja near the Blue Valley junction early on Monday (Jan 6) morning.

In a statement, the District Disaster Management Secretariat reported that continuous heavy rain since Sunday (Jan 5) afternoon caused the incident.

The Secretariat said information about the landslide was received at 3.15am, and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) was dispatched to monitor and assess the situation and provide additional personnel.

"The main route from Simpang Pulai/Lojing to Cameron Highlands is blocked in both directions," it said.

Alternative routes are available via Sungai Koyan road in Lipis and Tapah road to reach Cameron Highlands.

"Efforts to clear the debris are actively underway, and the incident did not involve any victims or houses," it added.
