Missing teen found drowned in Jerantut


KUANTAN: A teenage boy who was reported to have fallen into Sungai Pahang while fishing at a raft house on Jalan Kampung Pedah in Kampung Jerantut Feri, Jerantut has been found drowned.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department operations and rescue division assistant director Salahuddin Isa said the body of Azri Fahmi, 14, was found floating by the search and rescue (SAR) operation team at 7.45am on Monday (Jan 6).

"Azri was found 900m from where he was reported to have fallen in, and the victim's body was handed over to the police for further action," he said in a statement.

The student was reported to have fallen while fishing with two friends on the floating house on Saturday (Jan 4).

A SAR operation was carried out immediately and the operation included two tracker dogs from the K9 Unit. – Bernama
