Body of foreigner found clutching dead baby in Kulai


KULAI: The bodies of a foreign woman and her infant, who still had an umbilical cord attached, have been found at the roadside here.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tan Seng Lee said an individual discovered the bodies of the mother and baby on Jalan Impiana 5, Taman Impiana Kelapa Sawit at around 8.15am on Tuesday (Jan 7).

"Police who went to the scene and found the lifeless bodies of the woman and baby by the roadside.

"Our forensics team confirmed both victims dead at the scene.

"No external injuries were found on both. We also found some organic matter believed to be the placenta near the bodies," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 7).

Supt Tan said that the woman is believed to be a foreigner but her identity is still unknown.

The bodies have been sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for a post-mortem examination.

Supt Tan urged witnesses or those with information to contact investigating officer Insp R. Arun at 013-333 2385 or the nearest police station.
