Supporters rejoice after ‘Bossku’ gets judicial review leave

PUTRAJAYA: Supporters of Datuk Seri Najib Razak came away in an upbeat mood outside the Palace of Justice here after the former prime minister obtained leave relating to his claims of a royal addendum order that would allow him to undergo house arrest.

Moments after the court decision was announced yesterday afternoon, supporters shouted “Daulat Tuanku”. They also shouted “Hidup Bossku” in reference to Najib’s moniker.

Najib supporters and PAS members gathered as early as 7am to show their support for the ex-prime minister, filling the areas around the Palace of Justice and its back entrance.

There was heavy police presence at the rally, making sure that the situation was under control.

Umno supreme council member Isham Jalil welcomed the court decision.

“It was a 2-1 decision and I’m happy that the decision was on Najib’s side,” he said.

Several PAS leaders were seen at the rally as well. Its information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said PAS had always stood for the oppressed including for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when he was sacked as the deputy prime minister in 1998.

He said PAS only wanted to know whether the royal addendum existed or not.

In a Facebook post, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said with the decision, it is time for someone to take responsibility for the matter.

“As I’ve maintained all along, it is quite a simple matter. Is there an addendum or not? If yes, say so. If none, say so. It is really that straightforward,” he said in the video post yesterday.

“Now, it has been shown that the addendum exists, and that it is legitimate,” said Dr Wee, who added that the consistent refusal to heed the exhortation to come clean on the addendum issue has now backfired.

In Kuala Lumpur, chants of “Hidup Bossku” filled the grounds of Batu Caves temple as scores of MIC members came in solidarity with Najib.

They then entered the temple to offer their prayers led by MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.

He said that he and MIC members held their event at Batu Caves as police had issued an advice to people against attending the rally at Putrajaya.
