Three-car collision kills husband and wife

SEREMBAN: A couple was killed in a three-vehicle collision along Jalan Seremban-Kuala Pilah near here.

Seremban police chief Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din said the accident occurred around 6.45pm on Sunday.

Both victims were reportedly in their 50s.

“The accident happened when a 22-year-old man who was heading towards Kuala Pilah was believed to have lost control of his car.

“(He then) veered into two other cars that were heading in the opposite direction,” he said in a statement yesterday.

ACP Mohamad Hatta said the front-seat passenger died on the spot while her husband succumbed to his injuries at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar here.The 22-year-old driver, who was driving alone, fractured both his legs in the crash while the driver and the occupants of the third car involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.

He urged eyewitnesses to contact investigating officer Insp Mohd Shahrizan Khairi at 019 846 1792 or the nearest police station.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
