Cook dies in motorcycle accident with cow in Tampin


TAMPIN: A 26-year-old cook was killed after his motorcycle ploughed into a cow near here.

Tampin police chief Supt Amiruddien Sariman said the victim, an Indonesian national, died on the spot in the accident.

The mishap, he said, happened just past midnight today (Jan 8) at KM43 Jalan Tampin-Gemas.

He said the victim was heading home to Taman Pinggiran in Sg Kelamah at the time of the crash.

"The victim suffered serious head injuries due to the impact of the crash and died on the spot.

"His remains have been sent to Tampin Hospital for post-mortem," he said in a statement.

Supt Amiruddien urged eyewitnesses to contact investigating officer Insp R. Sritharan at 017 400 2611 to assist in investigations.

The case is being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
