Fuel prices Jan 9-15: RON97 and diesel up 5sen, RON95 unchanged

KUALA LUMPUR: The retail prices for RON97 petrol and diesel will go up by 5sen per litre from Jan 9-15.

The Finance Ministry, in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 8), said the retail price of RON97 petrol would increase 5sen from RM3.28 to RM3.33 per litre.

The price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will go up by 5sen from RM2.98 to RM3.03 per litre but remains at RM2.15 per litre in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.

The price of RON95 petrol remains unchanged at RM2.05 per litre.

It said the prices were fixed based on the weekly retail prices of petroleum products, using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula.

"The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people," it added.
