LHDN to introduce new system for monthly tax deductions soon

PETALING JAYA: The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) will introduce a new monthly tax deduction service (e-PCB Plus) through the MyTax portal, replacing the current e-PCB, e-Data PCB and e-CP39 systems.

In a Wednesday (Jan 8) statement, the LHDN said that the transition began with e-PCB PlusPhase 1 on Sept 24, 2024, which involved registering all employers engaged in PCB.

"Following the implementation of this new system, employers are required to settle all data and PCB payments for all current monthly salary deductions or backdated deductions before Jan 15, 2025.

“Beginning 15 Jan, the existing PCB will be opened only for reference purposes to enable employers to check earlier information and PCB records. Other functions, such as filling, calculation, and PCB payment, will be fully closed,” it said.

LHDN said it would announce when PCB Plus would be fully implemented before it officially opened to employers and consumers. It also advised employers to register with the new system.
