A ZOO visitor flung a canned drink at a panda in Chongqing, China, and ironically threatened to call the police when other people ticked him off, China Press reported.

Witnesses claimed that the can hit the panda named Lan Xiang on its head.

Lan Xiang immediately stood up and started rubbing its head.

Visitors at the Chongqing Zoo on Sunday were upset with the man’s action.

They crowded around him and told him off.

But the unrepentant man threatened to call the police on them.

“Is it wrong for me to ask the panda to drink?” he asked.

The crowd responded with a loud “yes”.

The man was later arrested by police.

Later, the zoo said that Lan Xiang had been startled but was unharmed.

> An online debate erupted after a man shared his experience of paying RM21.50 for a plate of economy rice, Guang Ming Daily reported.

The man, who identified himself as Yoyo, posted a photo on Xiaohongshu which showed the meal at a rice stall in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

He had picked an egg, cabbage, okra and some meat, and was told to pay RM21.50.

“Is this expensive, or is this the normal price around here?” Yoyo asked.

Many Internet users pointed out that similar portions in Klang, Selangor, would cost between RM12 and RM15.

Others said the man should always ask the stall owner to list out the price of every item if he finds the bill unreasonable.

“I should have done so. I was too stunned by the price that it did not occur to me to ask,” Yoyo said.
