‘Still no word on funds for crematoriums in five states’

THE Indian community is querying about the funds allocated for the construction of Hindu crematoriums in five states, Makkal Osai reported.

According to the report, the government approved the allocations in September 2024.

Since then, there had been no word about the money, which were meant for crematoriums planned in Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Johor.

In their panic, the father-and-son duo quickly ran off and then jumped into a river to avoid the beast, the daily also reported.

The 14-year-old son managed to swim to safety and got himself out of the river some distance away.

However, he was then unable to locate his father.

The father was said to have still remained missing and his family had since reported his disappearance to the police.
