Two injured in express bus and lorry crash near Kulai


KULAI: Two passengers on an express bus were injured in a collision with a trailer lorry on the North-South Expressway (NSE) near Kulai.

Kulai Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Awang Ismail Awang Hanafi reported that the incident occurred at KM27 of the NSE and was reported at 6.37am on Thursday (Jan 9).

“Our team rushed to the scene, which was 12km away from the fire station. The 34-year-old lorry driver also sustained injuries,” he said in a statement, adding that firefighters extracted the three victims from their vehicles.

"The injured express bus passengers, aged 28 and 70, along with the lorry driver, were sent to the hospital in an ambulance for medical treatment," said Awang Ismail.

According to Plus Traffic on X, the accident debris was cleared by 8.33am, but traffic on the expressway remained slow-moving.
