Floods: Seven relief centres opened in Kota Tinggi following continuous rain

JOHOR BARU: Continuous rain since Friday (Jan 10) morning has led to the opening of seven temporary relief centres (PPS) in Kota Tinggi due to floods.

The Johor disaster management committee said as of 8pm Friday, there were currently 120 people from 50 families that had been evacuated to three PPS.

“SJKC New Kota currently has the most number of victims with 91 people, who are residents from Taman Aman.

“This is followed by Dewan Kg Baru Sungai Mas with 18 people from Kg Baru Sungai Mas and SRA Bersatu with 11 people from Taman Mawai,” it said in a statement here on Friday night.

The committee also said that they were currently updating figures of flood victims at the other four PPS that have been opened in Kota Tinggi.

The four PPS are SK Laksamana, SK Bandar Penawar 1, Dewan Kg Makam and Dewan Kota Kechil.
