Minister’s son and alleged threats against pregnant lady

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have completed their investigation into a criminal intimidation case involving the son of a minister, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.

“For now, the prosecution has instructed the investigating officer to obtain a pregnancy report from a woman who claimed to have been threatened by the minister’s son,” he said.

However, he said the initial investigation found that the minister’s son had already married the woman, who was said to be pregnant.

“We are waiting on confirmation of the marriage certificate,” he said when contacted.

This is in reference to a case that went viral on Telegram, in which the VIP’s son had been accused of threatening a woman who wanted to hold him accountable following her pregnancy.

He was alleged to have made the threat while having a discussion with the woman and several others at a house in Telok Air Tawar, Butterworth, Penang on Dec 24 last year.

Razarudin said the investigation paper had been referred to the deputy public prosecutor on Monday for further action.

He said a police report about the incident was lodged on Jan 1.

“I have stressed that the police have never protected anyone who has committed an offence,” he added.
