Photographer denies hurting fashion designers


PETALING JAYA: A freelance photographer has claimed trial at a Magistrate’s Court here to two counts of causing hurt to two fashion designers using a camera at a hotel.

According to the first and second charge sheets, 30-year-old Muhammad Imran Khairil had caused hurt to Azmi Abdul Rahman, 47, and Raziman Din, 53, by using a camera as a weapon.

The offences were allegedly committed at a hotel in Bandar Utama here at 8.45pm and 9pm on Wednesday.

Muhammad Imran was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code and faces a maximum 10 years’ imprisonment or a fine or whipping, or any two of the punishments, if convicted.

He pleaded not guilty after the charge was read out yesterday.

Magistrate Farah Azura Mohd Saad allowed bail at RM3,500 in one surety for each offence and ordered the accused not to harass the victims.

The case is fixed for mention on Feb 28.
