Continuous rain alert issued for five states


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorology Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous rain alert for five states in Malaysia.

The warning, issued at 12.30pm on Sunday (Jan 12), forecasts persistent rainfall in Kelantan, affecting areas such as Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Bachok, Machang and Pasir Puteh.

Terengganu is also expected to experience ongoing rain.

In Pahang, areas including Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin are on alert.

Several regions in Johor, such as Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru, are anticipated to have continuous rain.

In Sarawak, regions including Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah and Kapit (Song) are also expected to be affected.
