Three injured after tree falls on car travelling to Kluang Hospital

KLUANG: Three people sustained minor injuries while one escaped unharmed after a tree fell on the car they were traveling in here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the victims, two brothers and their wives, were heading to Kluang Hospital from Melaka to visit a relative who was hospitalised.

"We were alerted about the incident at about 11.30am on Sunday (Jan 12) by a member of the public.

"Early investigations show that a tree on the side of the road had suddenly fallen as the car was passing through the area," he said in a statement.

He noted that it was raining when the incident took place at KM48.5 of the Batu Pahat - Mersing road here.

"The driver, a 60-year-old man, sustained minor injuries to his forehead, while his 62-year-old brother, who was in the front passenger seat, was unharmed.

"Meanwhile, their wives, who were seated in the back, suffered injuries to their necks and foreheads," he said, adding that the women are aged 58 and 63 years old, respectively.

ACP Bahrin said the injured victims have been sent to Kluang Hospital for treatment.
