SINGER Amira Othman has admitted to staging a publicity stunt about “dating” actor Fattah Amin in a bid to promote her latest single Bila Nak Kahwin, Kosmo! reported.
“I know that some people may or may not like this stunt. I just hope it doesn’t upset my fans or supporters,” she said.
Amira, 32, explained that she opted for the gimmick as she had been often been seen as an artiste who avoided controversies.
“If I didn’t take this risk, I’d remain stuck in the same place. I wouldn’t be able to step out of my comfort zone,” she said, adding that she was prepared to be criticised over the gimmick.
“Before going ahead with this, I considered all the possible outcomes. My record label also warned me about the risks involved.”
Amira also admitted that she benefitted from Fattah’s popularity, which has grown significantly since his divorce in October last year.
“I am grateful to him and his management team for agreeing to collaborate with me,” she said.
> Fans of Sweet Qismina were taken aback by her latest look as the actress appeared to have lost a lot of weight within a short period, Berita Harian reported.
Some of them thought she had gone for bariatric surgery.
But Sweet, whose real name is Farhanna Qismina Supandi, has dispelled such talk.
“I’ve been following a liquid diet where I only drink milk throughout the day. If I am famished, I’ll eat an apple or a boiled egg,” said Sweet, 27.
She also explained that the weight loss was for an upcoming film role.
“I did this to portray a bedridden Guillain-Barre Syndrome patient in the film Babah. My character has to appear gaunt.
“I had to lose 10kg in a month to bring my character, Maya, to life in this film,” she said.
Sweet added that she succeeded in reducing her weight from 53kg to 43kg.
Besides Sweet, the cast of Babah includes Qi Razali, Cristina Suzanne, Adam Lee and Kis Aisha.
