KOTA KINABALU: Five people suffered injuries including three in serious condition after the vehicle they were travelling in plunged into a deep ravine along the Tambunan-Ranau road.
Tambunan Fire Station chief Mitchell Francis George said the victims were a man, 21, and two women aged 35 and 55, as well as two 17-year-old boys.
He said the fire station received a distress call at 12.06pm on Monday (Jan 13).
He said the victims had been moved out from the four-wheel-drive vehicle by other road users, who climbed down the 40m-deep ravine to help, as the rescue team arrived at the scene.
The victims were sent to the hospital for treatment.
"Firemen ensured that no other hazardous elements were present, and we concluded our operations at the site by 1.13pm," he said.
