I still haven't found what they're looking for: Dr M teases search for 'billions'

PETALING JAYA: A video of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has gone viral again, this time involving a "search" for his purported billions.

In an 86-second video posted on X on Sunday (Jan 12), the former prime minister is seen looking in unlikely places around his home for RM3bil allegedly in his possession.

He looks behind his TV set and under the sofa, then goes to a bedroom where he looks under the bed.

Dr Mahathir says in the video he has been looking for the money for two years but has yet to find it.

"Looking for RM3bil which was supposed to be with me. But it still can't be found," he says in the video, as quoted by Sinar Harian on Monday (Jan 13).

Dr Mahathir's actions were seen as a clapback at allegations that he amassed billions of ringgit during his term as prime minister.

The elder statesman, who turns 100 this year, agrees in the video to a suggestion that the money might be in Switzerland.

"Let's go to Switzerland, the banks there could have the money," he adds.
