A MAN walked over 500km barefoot to his hometown after being chased away from his house by his wife and stepson following an argument.
Phon, 62, had lived in Satuek, Thailand, for over 13 years, but tensions rose when his stepson moved in from Bangkok, reported Oriental Daily.
With no money or belongings, Phon left on Dec 28, relying on police stations for shelter and temple food for sustenance.
His journey was slow as he has an old leg injury.
On the 13th day, he met a kind lorry driver who took him to a hospital where his swollen feet were treated.
The local police were also alerted to Phon’s journey.
Phon said he used to be a welder and he felt unvalued after his stepson moved in, so he left. He plans to reunite with his grandson in his hometown and intends to become a monk upon reaching Phon Phisai.
