Woman’s selfless act to help accident victim garners praise from public

ISKANDAR PUTERI: A woman’s quick yet tender actions of tending to a Singaporean accident victim by the road has garnered praise from the public.

The victim, who was on a motorcycle, had gotten into an accident near the Tanjung Kupang toll plaza near the Second Link crossing here on Jan 8.

A bystander, who later shared about the incident on Facebook, said he noticed two people lying on the road as a result of the accident at around 6.40pm that day.

“I was not sure how the accident happened but when I neared the area, I saw two victims - one’s injury was not that bad but the other victim, a 68-year-old Singaporean uncle, was bleeding profusely.

“Many motorcyclists who were on their way home stopped and assisted the victims by carrying the vehicles and the victims to the road shoulder.

“Suddenly, a woman came and swiftly assisted the uncle. Guys, I am not kidding when I say that I saw an angel right before my eyes for the first time in my life,” he said in the post.

The man also shared a video clip of the touching moment, which has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the woman could be seen sitting on the road shoulder while gently dabbing and wiping blood from the victim’s face and hands.

The bystander added that he was impressed by how the woman handled the situation by taking care of the uncle as if he were her own father.

“The uncle was badly injured and looked weak as he kept bleeding. The Akak (sister) never gave up on him and tried her best to calm him down.

“Her clothing and hands were stained with blood but she remained by his side until the ambulance arrived,” he said.

“After the uncle was brought into the ambulance, I noticed that the woman was no longer there - I do not know her name or where she came from but God must have sent her there.

“I want to let her parents know that your daughter is truly an angel. Thank you, Akak Scooter,” he added.
