Babysitter arrested in Mersing over infant's death


MERSING: A babysitter has been arrested here in connection with the death of a nine-month-old boy.

It was learned that the baby was admitted to the hospital here with injuries on Sunday (Jan 12).

The hospital lodged a police report the following day and the infant succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday (Jan 14).

It is learnt that the babysitter, in her 60s, was arrested on Wednesday (Jan 15).

She has been remanded until Sunday (Jan 19) to assist in investigations into the death of the baby.

Mersing OCPD Supt Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani confirmed the case but did not elaborate.
