SUBANG JAYA: Mydin has launched its Chinese New Year Campaign, Kongsi Meriah, offering up to RM8,880 worth of prizes and even a lion dance at one’s own home.
Mydin managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin stated that the campaign reflects the company's commitment to fostering unity and harmony across various communities.
"With this Year of the Snake, Mydin, in collaboration with The Star, also presents a very interesting and creative game, the 'Snake Board Game'," he said during the launch of the campaign.
By playing the game, 10 lucky individuals have the chance to win a 'Supermarket Sweep', totaling up to RM8,880 worth of prizes, he added.
Participants can also redeem vouchers, coupons, and various great offers through the MydinRewards app, he noted.
Ameer highlighted one of the campaign contests, where 28 lucky customers can win a free lion dance performance at their homes, with a minimum spend of RM118 at any Mydin outlet.
He mentioned that the contest was also held last year and created many moments of unity between different communities.
"Many of our Malay customers won the prize, and they were very accepting of it, inviting their Chinese friends and neighbors to enjoy the show," he said.
Subang Jaya assemblywoman Michelle Ng Mei Sze, who officiated the campaign, expressed appreciation for Mydin’s initiative in organising these campaigns, especially during the festive season, to help those in need without expecting anything in return.
"Mydin is an example of a company that goes above and beyond.
"They demonstrate true leadership by not only focusing on corporate profits but also prioritising the well-being and unity of the community around them," she said.
Star Media Group Bhd (SMG) group chief executive officer Chan Seng Fatt said that SMG is proud to collaborate with Mydin by contributing the Snake Game inspired by the SMG editorial team.
"This game is not only intended for entertainment but also brings an educational element that enriches the Kempen Kongsi Meriah Campaign," he said.
Chan added that players can learn interesting facts about snakes, the symbol of the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac, through the Snake Game.
"We believe that this innovation is a prime example of how strong collaboration can produce results that make an impact on the community," he said.
Also present at the event were chief content officer Datin Paduka Esther Ng, chief business officer Lydia Wang, and executive editor of content design Tung Eng Hwa.
