Cabinet ministers extend FT Day greetings


KUALA LUMPUR: Several Cabinet ministers have extended Federal Territories (FT) Day greetings on Saturday (Feb 1), voicing hopes for enduring sustainability and prosperity for all.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, in a Facebook post, encouraged the public to persist in striving for a more inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous Federal Territories.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek urged for the Federal Territories to remain peaceful, prosperous, and harmonious.

Agriculture and Food Security Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, emphasised that the theme for Federal Territories Day 2025, "Wilayah Persekutuan Kita", mirrors the values of unity and shared responsibility in progressing the Federal Territories towards increased inclusivity and prosperity.

"Our collective efforts and unity, regardless of background, result in the success and welfare of the Federal Territories. Let's continue to strengthen our unity, preserve harmony, and work together for the nation's progress.

"May the Federal Territories continue to evolve into world-class, prosperous, and sustainable cities," he said in a Facebook post.

Other ministers who conveyed Federal Territories Day 2025 greetings include Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, and Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

Harnessing the power of sustainability

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir also shared his prayers for the Federal Territories to thrive with unity, innovation, and wellbeing.

"Collectively, let's build a brighter future for Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan. Let's sustain our efforts to develop a more sustainable, inclusive, and harmonious community for a more progressive Malaysia," he posted on Facebook.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, underscored that the Federal Territories are not merely the nation's administrative and economic centres, but also symbols of Malaysia's harmony and progress.

"The diversity within the Federal Territories reflects our aspirations as a united, dynamic, and inclusive nation. As Malaysians, let's all play a role in ensuring the Federal Territories continue to flourish as centres of innovation, prosperity and wellbeing for all," he said in a Facebook post.

Federal Territories Day is celebrated annually on Feb 1, marking the declaration of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan as Federal Territories. This year signifies the 21st celebration since its inception in 2004. – Bernama
