Jualan Rahmah Madani to expand this year with RM200mil budget boost

KOTA KINABALU: Jualan Rahmah Madani is now held monthly across all state constituencies following a budget increase to RM200mil this year.

"Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expanded the budget from RM100mil to RM200mil to make these affordable sales available in every constituency," said Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.

Describing the increased allocation as a reflection of the government’s commitment to helping Malaysians manage their cost of living, he said all products sold under the programme are subsidised to ease financial burdens.

"With this support, we will hold these sales monthly to benefit as many people as possible," he said at a Jualan Rahmah event at Taman Keramat, Likas, on Saturday (Feb 1).

Armizan officiated the Jualan Rahmah event, joined by Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities and Kota Kinabalu MP Datuk Chan Foong Hin and Sabah Assistant Finance Minister and Likas assemblyman Datuk Tan Lee Fatt.

Encouraging the public not to miss out, the Papar MP urged people to check the ministry's website for the latest schedule and locations.

"Our schedule is available in advance, so people can plan and take advantage of these discounted goods," he said.

Harnessing the power of sustainability

Beyond federal efforts, state-level initiatives are also in place to provide assistance.

"The Sabah government runs outreach programmes in collaboration with non-governmental organisations and young entrepreneurs under Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor's leadership.

"Through this initiative, now in its fourth year, young entrepreneurs receive immediate RM500 financial aid to support their businesses," he said.

He noted that while various federal and state grants require applications, the outreach programme provides instant assistance to aspiring business owners.
