Over 400 still at seven relief centres in Sabah


KOTA KINABALU: The number of flood victims in the Telupid and Paitan districts remained at 413 people, involving 124 families, as of 8am on Saturday.

The Secretariat of the Sabah Disaster Management Committee, in a statement, said that 350 of the evacuees, from 102 families, are at five relief centres in Telupid, while the remaining 63 evacuees (22 families) are at two relief centres in Paitan.

"A total of 14 villages were affected by the flood, six in Telupid and eight in Paitan," read the statement.

Telupid and Paitan are in the interior of Sabah, located over 200 kilometres and over 230 kilometres east of Kota Kinabalu respectively. - Bernama
