A RENOWN drone manufacturer in China is forcing its employees to leave the office on time and will perform a sweep of the building to ensure everyone has left by 9pm, Sin Chew Daily reported.

On Feb 27, SZ DJI Technology Co announced that all employees must stop working by 9pm for health reasons.

Its spokesperson Cai Wen said department heads would give three reminders to their staff to go home every evening.

The Human Resource Department would then perform a floor-by-floor sweep of its Shenzhen office to ensure that no one is in the building after 9pm.

According to Cai, who works in the company’s R&D department, many of his colleagues would often work till 11pm or midnight.

Now, all 100 employees on his floor must leave by 9.10pm.

> Khalil Fong Tai-tung’s last album has become a sought-after commodity weeks after the musician passed away from an unknown illness.

Sin Chew Daily reported that the singer-songwriter, who passed away on Feb 21, released an album titled The Dreamer last October.

However, it was only released in China, which made it difficult for fans elsewhere to get a copy.

After his death, the album became a collector’s item with fans offering enormous sums just to get a copy in the secondary market.

Worried that scammers may take advantage of the buying frenzy by selling bootleg copies of the album, Fong’s manager urged fans to only buy from official sources.

“We are currently making arrangements so that fans get an authentic copy of the album through official channels,” he said, adding that The Dreamer was submitted as a contender in this year’s Golden Melody Awards.

Born in Hawaii in 1983, Fong spent his childhood in Shanghai and Guangzhou.

He began playing guitar at the age of 15 and expanded his skills and range after moving to Hong Kong, where he gained fame and released his first album Soulboy in 2005.

Best known for his distinctive voice and unique music blend of Soul, Funk and R&B, the musician won over many fans in the Chinese music scene with popular hits Love Song and This Love.

He died at the age of 41 after battling an illness for five years.
