Jakoa to assess need for new bridge in Pos Belatim after collapse

KOTA BHARU: The Orang Asli Development Department (Jakoa) will assess the need for a new bridge in Pos Belatim, Gua Musang, after the existing structure collapsed due to heavy rain on Sunday (March 16).

In a statement, Jakoa said pedestrians and motorcyclists primarily used the collapsed bridge.

"We sympathise with the residents of Pos Belatim. The department has identified the damage and will evaluate the necessity of constructing a new bridge to ensure their convenience and safety.

"In the meantime, the main access road to Pos Belatim remains unaffected and can still be used as usual," the statement read.

Jakoa also reaffirmed its commitment to finding the best possible solution while prioritising the well-being and welfare of the Orang Asli community. – Bernama
