No More Drugs’ movie raises awareness in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Lions Clubs-produced movie "No More Drugs,"premiered on Friday (March 21) to raise awareness among youths about the dangers of substance abuse.

The message of the movie, urging everyone to cherish life and "Stay Away from Drugs, Say No to Drugs," was launched by the state Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister at the Glory Christian Centre on Friday night.

Organised by Lions Clubs International District 308-A2 in Sabah, the film aims to convey the dangers of drug abuse that destroys lives, shatters families, and undermines the potential of youths.

It highlights the need for leaders, educators, parents, and concerned citizens to work together to create a drug-free environment, focusing on prevention starting at home, schools, and within communities.

A 2,000-strong audience made up mainly of youths chanting "No More Drugs" marked the movie premiere featuring real-life struggles, the consequences of poor choices, and the harsh realities of substance abuse.

Meanwhile, Liew reminded youths from schools, colleges, universities, youth organisations, and community groups that life is full of possibilities.

"Do not let drugs steal your future. Surround yourself with positive influences, focus on your dreams, and never be afraid to seek help if you are facing challenges.
