KOTA KINABALU: Sabah police are taking action against several personnel who allegedly failed to take a report from a woman claiming she was slapped during an incident in Labuan last week.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said at least three people are being investigated.
“The offences include an officer’s failure to delegate and give orders to his subordinates to accept police reports from any complainant,” he said here on Wednesday (March 26).
He said the woman claimed her case was not handled properly when she went to the Labuan police station to lodge a report on Friday (March 21).
She then took to social media to voice her dissatisfaction and her report was then taken the following day, he added.

Comm Jauteh said it is a standing order for the police force that every report and complaint has to be taken and filed.
“We have issued this reminder many times – whoever comes to any police station to file a complaint must have the report taken and their case accepted.
“Just take the report from the complainant first and then classify it (to determine if) there are any criminal aspects, match it to the incident or scene, and proceed from there," he said.
In this case, the woman claimed on social media that she had been assaulted during a heated roadside exchange on Jalan Tun Mustapha on Friday.
Labuan OCPD Supt Mohd Hamizi Halim had said the woman, 28, lodged a police report on Saturday (March 22), claiming that she was forced to brake abruptly because of a man's reckless driving.
He said a quarrel ensued and the man allegedly slapped the woman.
