Four teens nabbed for alleged assault on man in JB


JOHOR BARU: Four teenagers have been arrested in connection with the assault of a man in broad daylight at a guardhouse of an apartment here.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the 21-year-old victim lodged a police report at about 9.41pm on Friday (March 28) after he was attacked earlier that evening.

“The victim was travelling in a car with his brother and sister when they were stopped by a group of men in front of an apartment at about 6.30pm.

“Upon exiting the car, the victim was physically attacked by the group using their hands, feet and helmets,” he said in a statement here.

ACP Balveer said one of the men also used a chair to smash the car at the scene, which belonged to the victim’s sister.

“Further investigation led to the arrest of four local teenagers, aged between 15 and 18, and the seizure of several items.

“The suspects were arrested around Tampoi on Saturday (March 29) and Sunday (March 30),” he said, adding that two of the suspects have criminal records.

Nurturing talent for a brighter future

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons and Section 427 of the same code for committing mischief resulting in losses.
