King grants audience to PM ahead of National Day celebrations


PETALING JAYA: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, granted an audience to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Bukit Tunku on Sunday (Aug 30).

During the meeting, the King was briefed on several current national developments, as well as the final preparations for the National Day celebrations taking place on Monday Aug (31).

Expressing his anticipation for the historic event, Sultan Ibrahim voiced hope that the celebrations would run smoothly across the nation.

"I hope the Merdeka celebration proceeds smoothly and I look forward to seeing everyone involved give their very best effort in commemorating this deeply significant milestone in our nation's history," His Majesty stated.

The audience took place on the eve of Malaysia's 69th National Day, as final rehearsals and logistics were wrapped up for the national-level parade.
