Melaka polls: PAS-BN talks at final stage, says Annuar Musa

PUTRAJAYA: Talks on political cooperation between PAS and Barisan Nasional for the Melaka polls are in their final stage, says PAS central committee member Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

"It is understood that negotiations are in the final stage. The PAS central committee accepts the decision and is ready to carry out the party's mission he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Oct 13).

Annuar did not elaborate on the negotiations between PAS and Barisan.

On Oct 10, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said the party had reached agreement "in principle" with Barisan on political cooperation for the Melaka polls.

However, discussions are still ongoing over seat allocations and candidate selection.

Earlier, Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the coalition was expected to contest more than four seats in Melaka.

He said the final number would be determined following negotiations with Umno.

The Melaka state election is scheduled for Nov 14, with nomination day set for Oct 31 and early voting on Nov 10.
