Malaysia has done its best to address haze issue, says PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has done its best to address the haze situation, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“We have done everything we possibly could…,” he said following the launch ceremony of the Universiti Malaya (UM) student residential project here on Thursday (Oct 15).

The Prime Minister was responding to former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin’s call for Malaysia to take a firmer stance against Indonesia over the worsening haze, saying the country had been “too soft” in dealing with the issue.

Khairy made the remarks in the latest episode of the Keluar Sekejap podcast on Wednesday, while acknowledging the need for diplomatic relations between the two countries.
