SEOUL: Pyongyang has allowed a female dancer to become the first North Korean to appear in a South Korean television commercial, as inter-Korean exchanges continue despite political tensions on the penisula.
Cho Myong-ae, a member of the Mansudae Art Troupe, a top traditional dancing group in Pyongyang, will star in a series of advertisements for Samsung Electronics' Anycall mobile telephone, a publicity agent said yesterday.
