HANOI: Vietnam's economy has notched up an "impressive" 7% growth this year to beat its government-set target as the sustained US-China trade war dented economies worldwide.

The spat between Washington and Beijing has dragged on for 18 months, as both have inflicted punitive tit-for-tat tariffs on hundreds of billions of dollars of goods.
