BEIJING (China Daily/ANN) The nationwide special campaign cracking down on organised crime has smashed a batch of "protective umbrellas" behind mafia-like organisations and gangs, and major breakthroughs have been made in multiple cases in the past year.
Digging out the "protective umbrellas" behind gangs and organised crime is one of the focuses of the campaign, as the existence of such crimes is usually closely connected with corruption and duty crime, according to the national office against organised crime, operating under the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee.
