SYDNEY: The Chinese women's soccer team has won back-to-back games in the Olympic qualifying tournament after spending almost two weeks quarantined in an Australian hotel because of concerns over the coronavirus outbreak.

China scored five first-half goals in a 5-0 win over Taiwan on Monday (Feb 10) to follow up on a 6-1 win over Thailand last Friday in the Asian zonal qualifier for the Tokyo Olympics. China will next face Australia on Thursday in a game likely to decide top spot in Group B. The top two teams in the group will advance to home-and-away playoffs against the top two teams from Group A for two places at the Olympics.
