MACAU: Macau's total population at the end of 2019 increased by 12,200 year-on-year to 679,600, the special administrative region's statistic department said here on Sunday (March 8).
The latest report from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the female population accounts for 53.3% of the total. The proportion of elderly (aged 65 and above) grew by 0.8 percentage points year-on-year to 11.9 percent, whereas that of adult (aged between 15 and 64) dropped by 0.8 percentage points to 74.9%.
